Kalsiqi is a closed network for IIMB alumni, run by Quantana (Vishal Kumar, PGP 2012). This policy explains what we collect and why, in line with India's DPDP Act.
What we collect. Your email (sign-in and verification), name, batch, city, current company and role, LinkedIn profile details you share, your messages and referral requests, and job pages you open. We also store a profile photo and your city-level location only if you choose to share them in the app.
Location. Only if you allow it, and only while you are using the app — never in the background. When you ask the app to find alumni or events near you, your position is turned into a city or area name and only that name is saved to your profile — we don't keep your coordinates.
Camera. Only if you allow it, and only when you tap to take a profile photo or an event photo. A photo leaves your phone only when you choose to save or share it.
Contacts. Optional, and off unless you allow it. To show you which of your contacts are IIMB alumni, the app turns each email address and phone number into a one-way hash (SHA-256) on your phone and sends only those hashes. We compare them with our list of known alumni, return just the matching alumni, and discard the rest — we never upload or store your address book (no names, no numbers, no hashes), and we don't contact anyone in it. You can switch this off at any time in your phone's settings.
Why. To confirm you are an IIMB alum, to connect you with batchmates who can refer you, and to run the app. We never sell your data and never show it to advertisers. Alumni names are visible to approved members only — never to the public internet.
Your rights. You can opt out of directory listings and leaderboards at any time, ask for a copy of your data, or delete your account entirely: in the app, go to You → Delete my account. Deletion blanks your profile, removes your messages' text, and adds your email to our do-not-contact list. You can also write to privacy@quantana.com.au for any privacy request — we reply personally, usually within a week.
Where your data lives. Our servers and database are hosted in India. Sign-in codes are sent by email; we use no third-party ad or tracking SDKs.
